what is the mid-south forestry
equipment show?

The Mid-South Forestry Equipment Show is the Deep South’s premier forestry show. It is the oldest outdoor, live logging demonstration in the nation where equipment manufacturers are allowed to operate their equipment in actual field conditions. The show has been in operation for over 35 years, providing a grassroots technology transfer between loggers, landowners, foresters, and equipment manufacturers. The two-day attendance for shows averages 6,000 participants.

  • The show is permanently located in the heart of the mid-South, seven miles south of Starkville on Mississippi State University’s 8,500-acre John W. Starr Memorial Forest. It is easily accessible by four-lane MS Highway 25. For directions to the show site and an area map, please click here.

  • The Mid-South Forestry Equipment show is a “family-friendly” event. The registration fee to the show includes admission for the attendee’s spouse and accompanied children under 18 years of age. There is also a children’s area located at the show site. Families may also click here to browse local visitor and convention bureau websites for information on area attractions.

  • Pets are not allowed at the show due to safety concerns and liability insurance restrictions. Service dogs are allowed.

  • The show is a pedestrian-only event. In the interest of safety and given liability insurance restrictions, vehicles (including UTVs and golf carts) are not allowed to be driven inside the show gates during show hours.
